Tournament Attire

General golf attire is acceptable; collar shirts, walking shorts or pants (no cut off shorts, blue jeans, collarless t-shirts). Please refer below to Kleinburg Golf Club Policies for more detailed information on golf attire).

Please note: GOLF SHOES MUST HAVE NON-METAL SPIKES (SOFT SPIKES ONLY)

The dinner reception is business casual.

Tournament Format - Scramble

Upon arrival, please droff off your clubs and one of the course staff will place your clubs on your golf carts. Then proceed to the tournament registration desk located just outside the clubhouse to check in.  Locker room facilities are available inside the clubhouse. 

A BBQ lunch will be served on the clubhouse patio beginning at 11:30 am.

We strongly recommend arriving no later than 12:30 pm to ensure registration procedures are completed.

Registration & Golf Club Drop-Off

This format ensure an enjoyable pace of play, promotes teamwork and allows the poorest golfers to contribute to a successful day:

Male players hit from the white tees while female players hit from the red tees. The team chooses the best shot and the foursome advances to this new tee.  Each golfer then hits from one foot of tee.  Each subsequent shot is played in the same manner until ball is holed out. Notes:

  • each golfer must have a minimum of two tee shots
  • maximum score of 8 (eight) strokes on any hole

Food and Refreshments

There will be a BBQ lunch available from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm at the clubhouse, most probably on the outdoor patio.  Carts with cold beverages and snacks will also be available on the course, however these require cash payments or tickets provided by the tournament organizers.

A dinner will begin at 6:45 pm. Dinner will include a 12oz New York Steak cooked on the BBQ plus a buffet table containing salad, vegetables, rolls & desserts.  A cash bar will also be available. During the dinner, there will be live entertainment as well as prize presentations. If you have any special diet requirements, these can be mentioned at time of registration/check-in, as there are chichen and fish alternatives available.

Silent Auction

A silent auction will take place with all proceeds going to the Canadian Cancer Society.  The auction will be open between 11:00 am and 8:00 pm. Silent Auction items from PREVIOUS YEARS (2001, 2002 & 2004) included:

Special Contests

To make the tournament more fun and challenging, we will be presenting prizes for special hole contests including: Closest to the Pin (men & women), Longest Drive (men & women), a Putting Competition. Additionally, there will be other special competitions in a couple of other holes.

Hole-In-One

There will be a hole-in-one cash prize; details of which will be announced the day of the event.

Golf Club Rentals

A limited amount of golf club rentals are available at $28.75 each (price subject to change). Please contact Kleinburg Golf Club Por Shop at (905) 893-1900 ext. 225

Final Notes

The organizing committee asks you NOT TO DRINK AND DRIVE. Please ensure that you have alternative transportation should you wish to consume alcohol during this event.

Finally, please read below the Kleinburg Golf Club Policies as we will need to ensure they are adhere to in order to have a successful event.

KLEINBURG GOLF CLUB POLICIES

Dress Code: Dress restrictions are in effect at all times on the golf course and premises. The following constitutes the dress regulations:

  • Shirts must have collars and sleeves, T-shirts and tank tops not permitted;
  • Shorts must be of the walking short cut.  Shorts must be within 3 inches of the knee and have pockets.  Swimwear, athletic or track shorts not permitted;
  • Jeans, track or athletic shorts are not permitted;
  • Socks or sockettes;
  • Appropriate footware - running shoes or soft spiked golf shoes are the only permissible footwear.

Soft Spikes: Metal spikes were banned from the course April 1, 1999. Kleinburg Golf CLub will replace metal spikes with an approved alternate for $11.00 (tax incl.).  Please be at the course 30 minutes prior to your tee-off time.

Power Carts Usage: All players must be a minimum of age 21 to operate a golf cart. Players that are under 21 years of age must be accompanied by an adult over 21 years of age.

Speed of Play: The maximum time permitted to play a hole should not exceed 15 minutes.  This will produce a 4.5 hour round.  Please ensure that all teams follow this regulation in order to ensure that the tournament is not delayed unnecessarily.

Slow Play: So that everyone enjoys his or her day, Kleinburg Golf Club Limited strictly enforces the following policy:
All groups of golfers must keep up to the group ahead of them.  The following procedure will occur if a group is out of position:

  • The group will be informed that they are behing and will have 2 holes in which to catch up.
  • If they do not catch up, they will be instructed to pick up their balls and move up into position.
  • Step 2 will be repeated a maximum of 3 times. After which the players will be asked to discontinue their game.

Food & Beverage: All food and beverage products must be supplied through Kleinburg Golf CLub. No alcoholic beverages, for consumption, are permitted on the golf course, in the clubhouse facilities or on the property unless purchased from Kleinburg Golf Club as per L.C.B.O. regulations.  Coolers and any alcohol will be confiscated.  This policy is strictly enforced and no exceptions are granted. Violation of this policy results in immediate dismissal from the golf course property.
