I don't believe for a minute that the nurses are safe yet. Good to hear that you are looking into nutritional foods. I can recall many years ago having dinner with you at Toby's on Bloor. You were supposedly on a diet or so you said. And to prove your point you ordered a spinach salad..... and a large draught. That's my type of diet! Great to hear that the process continues so positively. Salut! See you tomorrow.

Hi Chris and Gaby, Great Photo on opening screen of web site. We (marta, Paris, Kruz, mom-ginny, dad-ken, and I) all prayed for you at the beach in bonita. I kept looking out at the water thinking about how much you enjoy the beach and asking the great spirits to send power and healing energy your way. We were there for fifteen days 5-15 of march. I thought of you several times each day. Lots of prayers and energy to you. love Mark

Hopefully, with all the love, support and encouragement from your family and many friends, your recovery will be less painful. God keep you and your family in his care. We are encouraged daily to hear (read) about your progress in your recovery. Hopefully the progress will continue. Despite the relative distance, your progress is always part of our work lives, as we check up on your progress. If your stay in the hospital becomes too long, we will have to instruct the nurses to be less nice to you, in order to get you to leave and then finally go home! Stephanie and Charles

Our Darlings: We continue to pray that God be with you inyour every step. Longing to see you both home, soon. I, Erato, am impressed at the social activities at MSK. Although volunteers do a great job in most hospitals, what is going on there with arts & crafts, flower arrangements, concerts and shows, goes well beyon. Chapeau! Because these help the "mobile" patients and relatives by taking their minds off their own problems. I invite all those reading this web-page and have organizational skills, to organize such events in community hospitals. It is well worth the effort. - With all our love.

Someone from the family has been checking in every day, but we never realized that we could be famous in print. As your health get's better, I couldn't help thinking, some people will do anything to get from going to school board meetings. They'll even set themselves up in New York in a hospital - just in case. But then again Loreen and I said, "For us, New York is a city for lovers. So why not?" So long as I hear that you're walking the hallways, I feel fine. But when I hear that you've been ouside - then I'm going to be real jealous. New York in spring - with your lady! Central Park, good food.. Life can't be all bad. Cheers.

Hi guys !! We are updating ourselves on the events several times a day. This Web page was such a wonderful idea. Congratulations Cathy not only for that but for also becoming a mom during all this. This was a major operation, it is only normal that Chris will experience discomfort and pain. Chris take it easy, give it time, be calm and it will all fall into place. Dont rush it. In due time discomfort will diminish and you will be on your way to full recovery. We wish it with all our heart and prayers.

Similar to the others, I, too, was excited to check on your progress today. Two thoughts come to mind based on the latest report: first of all, as you were up and about already, it is obviously true that it is difficult to keep a good man down!! Secondly, after reading that you already had eaten two meals, I have no doubt forgotten how good the food is in a hospital (tongue in cheek for that comment)!! The note in this guestbook from the American gentleman displays to me that miracles do happen. From our university days, I always remember that both of you were such strong and determined people. It is this strength (and all these people who are cheering you on) that will lead to success on this journey. I can feel it, the others can feel it, and I know the two of you do too!! Salut!

Dearest Chris And Gabriella... We are delighted to read the first very promising news of the day-after following the crucial operation. Thank God it was not the doctors' first option you have mentioned. Our hearts are filled with great hopes. Chris' determination and his admirable courage is the best medicine. You have made a giant step forward, and with the love and prayers of your loved ones many more giant steps will follow until all these hardships you had to cope with will remain behind you as a testimony of how closely knit your loving family is. Gabriella's uncompromising efforts and endeavours portrays in our mind the perfect image of a Guargian Angel in these difficult days. God Bless You All... You are always in our prayers...

I was diagnosed with dsrct in jan 1999 at 25. I went to MD Anderson and began the first of 5 rounds of ATP protocol. I was stopped after the 5th round because the 6th would have killed me. From jan till july I lost 107 lbs. I had my 8 hr abdominal surgery in oct where my primary tumor was 99% dead and 1% alive. I returned in dec for 2 more rounds but only completed 1 after a colon cancer scare and leukemia scare. My bone marrow couldn't take any more and was released cancer free on jan 5, 2000. The body can withstand a lot of abuse as long as your mind and your faith are strong. Good Luck! Please contact us for any questions that might arise. Hello our Darlings, We wish a good and speedy recovery to Chris and "bon courage" to you Gaby. Chris will feel much better with the large tumor removed. At least we should be thankful for that. Dear Gabi and Chris, Our thoughts and prayers are with you now and have been all along in the past. I feel secure in the knowledge that you are at Memorial Hospital because of my personal studying and working experiences there between 1966 - 69. I saw many miracles performed and many happy faces that left with an abundance of hope for a bright future. I would like to add you to that list of people. Gabi, I spent a lot of time myself in that church you mentioned in your message if it's the one on 68th Street. Keep up your spirits.
